FELISITUS KWANGWA
Known for her defensive flair and tenacity, captain of the Zimbabwe National Team, Felisitus is a regular for Surrey Storm and will be delivering a defensive masterclass this Easter. Felisitus had a very impressive 2019 world cup leading many defensive stats charts, and is looking forward to leading her country to their 2nd ever World cup in 2023.
FRAN WILLIAMS
Fran was the youngest England player selected for the 2019 World Cup and has won 19 Caps for England. Fran previously played for Wasps in the Super League and is now a key member of Loughborough Lightning's squad. Fran has been impressive from an early age, previously captaining England U21 squad.
The Academy
Our coaching programme will improve children's fundamental skills to develop them as a confident and competent player. We use small-sided invasion games plus extensive game play to develop understanding of strategies within every position and within a team context. Our coaches create a fun and inclusive environment within which players have the opportunity to develop, practice and apply new techniques.
The Academy will cover:
- Fundamental skills – catching, footwork, passing
- Attacking skills and positions
- Defending skills and positions
- Mid-court skills and positions
- Shooting skills and positions
- Centre pass – techniques, tactics
- Game play and tactics
Our coaching team are happy to help players develop a specific area or skill within which they wish to improve. Please speak to the Lead Coach when signing in on the first day of the Academy.
What to bring
Players need to bring the following each day:
- trainers
- a packed lunch and snacks
- water bottle
- suitable clothing for the weather conditions
- sun cream
